In 2003 the RMC (Racquetball Manufacturers Council) hired Dave George as its “Project Coordinator”. In this newly created position, George will act as liaison between the racquetball community and the RMC. Current projects this year include the collection of current court club data, in order to develop a national racquetball Court Directory; the printing of a new 2004 Racquetball Programmers’ Book to be used by owners, managers and pros in order to help them grow racquetball; the development of an official web site for the RMC (www.PlayRacquetball.org); and the mobilization of certified AmPRO instructors and sponsored players throughout the country to assist clubs and facilities with racquetball programs. Racquetball will have a presence at the 2004 IHRSA (International Health and Racquet Sports Association) Conference and Trade Show, March 22 – 25, in Las Vegas. The RMC’s Doug Ganim, assisted by Dave George, will be presenting a ninety minute session, “Racquetball Rocks! 2004”, to Club owners and operators. The objectives of the session are to talk about what is currently happening in racquetball, and to provide tools for increasing profitability from racquetball programs. The RMC is also sponsoring and hosting a booth during the three day, IHRSA trade show, in order to meet, greet and actively assist all those involved within the sport of racquetball. Industry icons Gary Mazaroff (AmPRO) and Fran Davis (Hall of Fame), with Dave, will be at the Racquetball booth (swapping lies and trading insults). If you are in Las Vegas for the IHRSA show, please be sure to come to the Wednesday, March 24th, 4:30pm “Racquetball Rocks! 2004” session, and /or come by Racquetball Booth, at the Trade Show, Booth # 2403.

The RMC has been busy in 2004, increasing the visibility of racquetball.

Providing funding, and collaborating with productions from the 2003 Choice Hotels U. S. Open Championships, the RMC is responsible for racquetball shows being aired on the new Tennis Channel, starting in February, 2004. These shows are accompanied by three different, (30 second) commercials, designed and produced to specifically promote the virtues of the sport of racquetball.
